The department is responsible for the clinical anesthesiaof the hospital, as well as pain management, analgesia techniques (such as painless gastroscopy examination, painless induced abortion, and so on). The department has a key position in the operation of surgical departments and painless treatment of the hospital.

The department has a building area of 6700 m2and24 operating rooms, among which 2 are class 100 laminar flow operating rooms, 4 are X ray shielding operating rooms, 1 is positive VS negative pressure operating room. The department also has 1 post-anesthesia care unit and 12 beds for postoperative palinesthesia.

    The department is well equipped and each operating room has portable versatile anesthesia machine and vital signs monitor. Besides, it also has portable versatile ultrasonic apparatus,optical laryngoscope and nerve stimulator, et al. The department has an experienced medical team and completes almost 40,000 cases of clinical anesthesia and postoperative analgesia each year. The regional anesthesiatechnique and postoperative analgesia in orthopedic surgeries are among the leading domestic level. The department is also the national and Guangdong provincial regional anesthesia training center.
