Femoral Shaft Fracture

Femoral shaft fracture refers to a kind of femoral fracture, which occurs at 2-5 cm below lesser trochanter and 2-4cm above condyles of femur. The patient would have good prognosis after appropriate treatment. But, patients who are under the following cases are highly recommended to receive surgery, such as patients with patients with severe open fracture, patients accompanied with neurovascular injury, patients with multiple fracture involving the same extremity, patients with multiple injuries, patients with head injury and without decision ability, patients with embedded soft tissue between fracture parts and manual reduction method is ineffective. Additionally, after receiving manual reduction, the patient with undesirable ankle position or angular deformity is also recommended to receive surgical treatment.
