Acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) describe the phenomenon of sudden worsening in airway function and respiratory symptoms in patients with COPD. Common symptoms include wheezing, chest oppression, and shortness of breath, et al. In our department, we uses noninvasive and assisted mechanical ventilator, Chinese herbal medicines and acupuncture to relieve dyspnea, prevent complications, such as pulmonary encephalopathy, pulmonary heart disease, disturbance of water, electrolyte, and acid-base balance and digestive canal bleeding and finally to decrease mortality and improve quality of life.
